BLUE PORTS Launches Training and Certification Programme for Port Sustainability Personnel

BLUE PORTS announces the opening of applications for its Training and Certification Programme. The Programme is addressed to ports’ and port operators’ staff with relevant professional experience who seek to enhance their skills and obtain certification as Port Sustainability Personnel.

The BLUE PORTS Certification Scheme, developed in compliance to ISO/IEC 17024,  responds to the growing demand for qualified professionals capable of dealing with challenges related to climate change, energy transition, circular economy and digital transformation in port operations. The Certification is offered through two sub-schemes: Port Sustainability Officer for management workforce and Port Sustainability Operator for technical and operational staff.

The programme will be delivered fully online combining synchronous online training sessions with self-paced study time and will conclude with online examinations conducted through a secure remote proctoring system. It is currently offered in Greek, Georgian, Italian and Spanish languages. Upon successful completion of the training and examinations, participants will be awarded the “BLUE PORTS Port Sustainability Personnel” certification.

Through specialised training and a mutually acknowledged certification at European level, participants will acquire up-to-date knowledge, skills and competences that enable them to support and drive the sustainable operation of ports, while strengthening their professional profile in a rapidly evolving sector.
