What is the BLUE PORTS Certification?
BLUE PORTS offers a new operational personnel Certification Scheme, conforming to the ISO/IEC 17024 International Standard. Based on the European Accreditation Mutual Agreement (EA MLA), the Scheme will be mutually recognised across national governmental and accreditation authorities in Europe and beyond.
The “BLUE PORTS Ports Sustainability Personnel” Certification is based on a competence-oriented framework, covering a structured set of knowledge, skills and competencies aligned with the day-to-day and strategic activities of management and operational staff involved in the green transition of port activities.

Port Sustainability Officer
For management and administrative staff (executives, managers, administrators)

What to expect
- Fully online programme delivered through the BLUE PORTS e-learning platform
- Blended learning format:
- Live online training sessions by expert trainers
- Self-paced study activities
- Fully digital training materials
- Online Certification Examination via secure remote proctoring
- Training duration:
- Port Sustainability Officer: 85 hrs total (45 hrs of synchronous training and 40 hrs of self-study)
- Port Sustainability Operator: 94 hrs total (52 hrs of synchronous training and 42 hrs of self-study)
- Approx. 10 weeks, with approximately 2 live sessions per week

The BLUE PORTS Certification Scheme is addressed to existing port staff and adopts a horizontal, inclusive approach. It is designed for professionals across different levels and a wide range of roles within port authorities and port operations service providers, who meet the eligibility requirements regarding:
